Twilight Princess
Link, a rancher in rural Ordon Village, is tasked with delivering a gift to Hyrule’s royal family. Before his journey begins, however, the village is attacked and some of the townsfolk are taken hostage. Link hurries to rescue them, but finds the path blocked by a large, ominous black wall. Link is then pulled in to the strange wall by a disembodied hand and finds himself in another world. Upon entering the world, Link transforms into a wolf and loses consciousness.
Link awakens to find himself locked in a prison. Not long after, he is visited by a mysterious imp-like creature named Midna who wants to make deal. She’ll break Link out of prison, but he has to do everything she says…
| Released | 2006 |
| Platforms | GameCube, Wii |
| Rereleased On | Wii U (HD) |
Originally developed for the GameCube, Twilight Princess‘s development coincided with the eventual launch of the Wii, and thus was released simultaneously on both platforms. To better use the Wii’s motion control capabilities, the entire overworld and character designs were mirrored in the Wii version. Twilight Princess was the first Zelda title to be released on more than one platform (the second being Breath of the Wild in 2017).
