In their last Direct, Nintendo surprised Zelda fans with their Indie collaboration Cadence of Hyrule, a sequel to the rogue-like rhythm game Crypt of the Necrodancer. While no specific release date was given at the time, there is now evidence the title could be releasing this month.
Subscribers to Nintendo Europe’s newsletter were greeted with a promotion for Cadence of Hyrule in the latest issue, which listed other May releases such as Assassin’s Creed III Remastered and Resident Evil Origins Collection. No specific date was offered, but one could assume a game promoted in a May newsletter would release in May.
This could be written off as a mistake on Nintendo of Europe’s part if not for a recent listing that appeared on the European eShop. It didn’t take a data-miner to find Cadence of Hyrule on the eShop — the listing is official and accessible. Again, no release date is offered even here, but it’s obvious Nintendo is prepping to drop the game soon — at least in Europe.
As for how and when the game’s release will be announced is anyone’s guess. Perhaps a surprise “Available now!” tweet or announcement tucked into a pre-E3 Direct will appear in the next few weeks? One can hope!
