There were a lot of things to expect from today’s Nintendo Indie presentation. Some new announcements, some good-looking games. What we weren’t prepared for was writing up an article about a new game with The Legend of Zelda involved, but here we are.

Too cool to look at enemy explosions.

Cadence of Hyrule is a crossover event between Crypt of the Necrodancer and The Legend of Zelda. For all intents and purposes, this is a sequel to Brace Yourself Games’ indie hit Crypt of the Necrodancer. But this time the main heroine Cadence has been called to a retro Hyrule in order to team up with Link and Zelda, presumably against something super evil. The track they featured for the announcement is a remix of “Tal Tal Heights.”

For those who are unfamiliar, Crypt of the Necrodancer was an indie title released in 2015. It’s a rhythm game with a dungeon-crawling twist. The music of the original game was composed by Danny Baronowsky (Super Meat Boy, Binding of Isaac), while also featuring the ability to use your own MP3’s on the PC version.

Take a moment to appreciate the art in this game.

We don’t have many more details than this for the new rhythm-adventure currently, but feel free to re-watch this trailer about a dozen times as we have.
