Cadence of Hyrule free trail available on NSO for limited time

If you’re playing other Zelda games to prime yourself up for Tears of the Kingdom, now is the perfect time to play the hit Zelda-indie crossover Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer for free. Nintendo Switch Online Members can download and try the entire game now through May 7 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. After May 7, any progress that players make will be saved, so rest assured. If you decide to purchase the game afterwards you’ll pick up right where you left off and keep dancing your way through Hyrule. Additionally, the game and it’s related DLC can also be purchased for 50% off until May 14.

As someone who has played Cadence of Hyrule myself, I couldn’t be happier that Nintendo has opened up this opportunity. It comes at the perfect time before Tears of the Kingdom launches. Cadence is a unique gem in the Zelda franchise. While the rhythm mechanics may not be for everyone, it is a blast to play once you get the hang of it. I love the fact that it’s an indie game collab, yet it feels every bit like an original Zelda. The characters are adorable, the story is surprisingly deeper than you’d expect, and the soundtrack is packed with absolute bangers. It is certainly worthy of being part of the series in my book. You’re missing out if you haven’t tried it.
