It seems Capcom are continuing the (very welcome) trend of Zelda DLC with their Monster Hunter franchise, having introduced Link’s armour and weapons in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate last year. This time, it’s our cel-shaded counterpart taking the stage in the upcoming Monster Hunter Generations.

The game’s new Prowler Mode allows you to play as a Felyne, offering an alternative play style. In this mode, you can give your Palico a Toon Link outfit, available as a free download, with the Wind Waker also available to use as a weapon.

The game will release on July 15 in North America and Europe, and July 16 in Australia.

It’s fun to see Link’s usual grunts replaced with cat-like yelps and growls. Cute! Plus, it reminds me of one of my favourite moments in The Wind Waker. I wonder if this is where the inspiration for this DLC came from?

I thought the meow was funny but I have wondered if their are no cats on windfall in the game, how does the meow work to cover it up?

Also interesting theory on the inspiration. Don’t know if I will get the game since I am currently trying to catch up on many Nintendo made games, but I like the inclusion of Nintendo properties in other series like this. Looks really cute!

I never thought about that before! Maybe Link should have snorted like a piglet instead.
