Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, the sequel to 2013’s Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, will be receiving its Switch port in Fall 2020, according to a new trailer.
The name of the game suggests the idea of a fully-fledged sequel, but that isn’t exactly the case. Oceanhorn 2 is actually a prequel to the first game, with events taking place before the original story.
At a glance, the first game shares a lot of similarities with the Zelda series, more specifically The Wind Waker. There is a lot of emphasis on sea exploration with players able to explore various islands, though arguably Oceanhorn 2 in fact shares more similarities with Breath of the Wild.
There’s no doubt that Breath of the Wild has inspired developers, and the team over at Cornfox & Bros has been taking notes, it seems. If you have yet to play Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, it is currently available on Nintendo Switch and other platforms. Although Switch owners will need to wait a little while longer for the sequel, you can currently play Oceanhorn 2 on iOS devices through the Apple Arcade.
