After fighting its way through rank after rank of subconscious thought, Music Monday has crashed into ZU once again like King Dodongo falling into the middle of the last battle with Ganon. Music is one of the key parts that all work together to make the Zelda series what it is, and as such shall be projected here for all to hear! This returning Music Monday post will draw attention to some of the summer spots in the Zelda series that you might imagine taking a vacation in. So hit the jump, and lose yourself in the goodness of Zelda music!
Summer is my favorite time of year. Swimming, diving, tanning, I love it all! That’s why my summertime song of choice is the theme to Zora’s Domain from Ocarina of Time. This cover of Zora’s Domain by adrisaurus captures the serenity of the water perfectly. The addition of vocals adds a welcome to paradise feel to the track. Listening to this, I imagine myself relaxing on the beach with a tropical drink in hand. If Zora’s Domain were a real place, I’d live there!
Continuing on the same theme, Lake Floria is another peaceful summer spot found in the Zelda universe. When I heard the music for the first time, I did not immediately think of it as an outstanding song. What helped change my mind was the guitar cover below that does an outstanding job of recreating it. Youtuber drpez12 uses only a guitar in this video, mixing together two clips of him playing the instrument. If you’ll bear with my awesome ninja poetry rhyming skills, put it on repeat and you’re sure to fall asleep. So relax as you listen to the soothing music of Lake Floria. If you are a fan of this style as much as I am, you might want to check out some of his other videos of Nintendo music.
