Have you heard about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time? For the 0.0001% of you who are on our site and somehow haven’t, it’s one of the greatest video games ever made. Released in 1998, it marked the franchise’s first 3D adventure. It touts a fair few of Zelda’s most powerful songs, and that’s no easy feat.
OK, enough with the goofy intro paragraph. The operative question here is whether or not you’ve ever experienced Ocarina of Time’s music at a live performance. There’s nothing like being engulfed in tracks from a beloved bit of media, be it a movie, TV series, or absolutely a game.
It’s not every day we have the opportunity to attend an orchestra event, especially in the age of COVID. Thank goodness for the internet, right? Every so often, a performance is so vivid, so emotionally stirring, that it simply must be shared. Senzoku Game Music Brass recently struck a chord to that end, honoring Koji Kondo’s masterpiece of music with twelve minutes of timeless reminiscence.
Is this not glorious? Songs like “Lost Woods” and “Gerudo Valley” have never truly exited my brain, nor have I tried particularly hard to change that. This latest exceptional tribute reaffirms my love for Ocarina of Time’s exquisite sounds, just as I hope it does for you.
