Nintendo Switch 2 will run the majority of Switch games with “no issue”

The anticipation for the next generation of Nintendo hardware is now at fever pitch. Ever since its reveal, the Switch 2 has gained plenty of excitement for fans to finally have a successor to the amazing Nintendo Switch console. New games have been announced such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, to name a few, with each of these games looking expansive and impressive to play. As excited as people are to play the new games, many are just as eager to play older games from the Switch that can also be played on the new successor. But one thing looms over many consumers’ minds. Will the the older games from the Switch run and look better on the successor?

Well, there’s good news. A new report from Nintendo states that there are currently “no issues” on around 75% of the games that have been tested including first party and third party games, with more games being tested in the days to come. A news article from HowToGeek.com also confirms this.

That’s a good sign for Nintendo and fans on a whole as many are simply excited to get a newer, stronger system that lets them play many of their Switch games at better frame rates and overall performances. Among these games some are more in need of a technical boost such as Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet. Both of these latest Pokémon games came out with mixed reviews because while the gameplay offered a new approach to the series that saw much success, a good amount of it became tainted or overlooked due to the game’s wonky technical performance. Thanks to the news that Nintendo released about the Switch 2, fans now know that these games will get significant updates to help them look and run better than ever. Some games such as the aforementioned above are getting a day one patch on release day.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are also getting huge Switch 2 updates at launch that will undoubtedly make those two remarkable games even more spectacular. In addition, they will have new content that becomes available via the Nintendo Switch App called Zelda Notes. Zelda notes offers a ton of new applications that can be used in tandem with the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom that is sure to spice up the fun. June 5 is just around the corner and it can’t come soon enough.
