Nintendo Direct for original Switch announced for March 27

A Nintendo Direct centered on the original Nintendo Switch was just announced to be airing March 27 at 7 a.m. PT or 10 a.m. ET. Despite the console’s lifecycle coming to an end, it appears to have one final trick up its sleeve.

The Direct will be 30 minutes in length and will only feature games launching on the original Switch hardware. Even with the console winding down on releases, there are still several games that could be shown off. Among first-party Nintendo games, both Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A could be showcased. Though it may be possible that Nintendo wants to hold off on such major titles until the big Switch 2 presentation next week. Conversely, third parties have a lot more lined up that could potentially make an appearance. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and many more could possibly be on the docket.

Only time will tell what the original Nintendo Switch has in store this late into life. Either way, next week is sure to be full of excitement between this direct and the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2.
