Hey, Zelda fans! Another episode of our Zelda News series has gone live on YouTube. Last week was a big one for the Zelda series, and Amanda is here to tell you all about it!
It was a Tuesday morning unlike any other, as Nintendo randomly announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Everyone was freaking out here at Zelda Universe, and I can imagine it was the same for every Zelda fan. The game is a prequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and will reveal the events leading up to Calamity Ganon’s siege over Hyrule.
As you can probably imagine, we wrote quite a number of articles last week. We covered the likes of the official announcement, artwork, Japanese collector’s edition, preorders, amiibo, and the nifty Japanese website loading screen icons.
It seems like Nintendo is getting into the habit of surprising us more often. They have done exactly that for the last few big reveals, including the Super Mario Bros 35th Anniversary Direct, Paper Mario: The Origami King, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and now Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. They really like making all of us freak out without a moment’s notice, don’t they?
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will launch on November 20 for the Nintendo Switch. There is a Japanese collector’s edition that releases on the same day in Japan with no current news of an international release, but we’ll keep updated on any further details.
Also, as a reminder, we are still seeking voice actors for our Breath of the Wild dub project with auditions closing on September 25. If you’re interested in auditioning for the project, you can do so over on our Casting Call Club page.
