Zelda fan recreates Hyrule in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

With the release of the new Tomodachi Life game and all of its new gameplay features, players have been able to push their creativity and make their islands centered around their favorite fandoms. In this case, a talented Zelda fan named KikiScrybbles has their island heavily inspired by the Hyrule found in the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom games. For those who are unfamiliar with the Tomodachi Life games, it is a series of social simulation games, similar to The Sims series, that focus on creating and taking care of different avatars, known as Miis, while watching their relationships (and drama) unfold.

Their island, respectively named Hyrule Island, is filled with Zelda inspired locations from Zora’s Domain to Korok Forest to Hyrule Castle. As you trek through the area, you can also see other iconic landmarks like the Great Fairy Fountains, a Sheikah Tower, Guardians, Ancient Shrines and even some of the different stables that can be found around Hyrule. They even included the Lord of the Mountain and a small area inspired by its home, Satori Mountain.

One of the most impressive details is the inclusion of the three dragons that can be seen around the map of Tears of the Kingdom, Farosh, Naydra and Dinraal. They aren’t the only dragons around though, the Light and Demon dragons make an impressive cameo! There’s even a couple of Gleeoks scattered around the map, too.

Another really awesome aspect of the island is that their Miis can have Blupees, Koroks and Fairies as pets. Using the in-game features, they’re even able to emulate the sounds made by them! We’re not sure if everyone would want a nagging fairy following after them and screaming to listen, though. Maybe if your name is Link?

As for the residents of Hyrule Island, KikiScrybbles has created all sorts of Miis for characters like Paya, Tulin, Rauru, Purah, Riju, Mipha, Koga and a number of different Koroks. There’s even some more obscure characters running around like one of the Goron children. They don’t plan on stopping there. More Zelda characters will make their way onto Hyrule Island in the future, including Link in his iconic Gerudo outfit. We can’t wait to see how it turns out!

One of the funniest features of the island are the Korok Seeds being a custom food item. One could only wonder how they taste, especially with the games already noting that they have a, well… distinct smell. This crazy detail is just another thing that melds the wacky worlds of Zelda and Tomodachi Life perfectly.

While we’ve already shown off a few of the amazing features that Hyrule Island and the impressive pixel art that made it possible, we’ve only grazed the surface. If you’d like to take a virtual island tour and finish exploring everything that Hyrule Island has to offer, you can check out KikiScrybbles‘ video showcasing their creation in its full glory.
