Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was packed with surprises, some of which we’ve already talked about. We still wanted to do a brief summary of some of the other amazing announcements out of today’s show, including a furious new set of Smash Bros. details.
There was as nice rundown of newcomer Banjo-Kazooie, out today, by director Masahiro Sakurai. Along with all the details, we were also treated to the announcement of DLC Newcomer #4: Terry Bogard. You can see his announcement trailer here. All of that was more Smash than I thought we would see today, but just because, Mr. Sakurai also threw in two more major announcements.

First, the original stack of five DLC fighters is no longer the end of the Smash roster. While there are currently no new details, more DLC fighters are coming after the still-mysterious fifth fighter. There was also a set of new Mii costumes, some new and some old, but it’s a mild way of saying one of these costumes blew past the rest: Sans from Undertale is a new Mii Gunner costume, featuring a Gaster Blaster on his arm. That said, I really like those Team Rocket costumes, too.
In our other article, we touched on a set of 20 SNES games coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service, including A Link to the Past. There are many more, along with some awesome Bluetooth SNES controllers. We also talked about Tetris 99 getting a major update with tons of new skins, including retro NES titles.
Little Town Hero was shown off by Shinya Takahashi of Nintendo. This game (formerly known by the project name “Town”) is from Game Freak, the creators of Pokémon, and has a soundtrack done by Toby Fox of Undertale fame (did I mention that “Megalovania” is in Smash Bros. now? Because it is).

September is still loaded up with some amazing games. Next week we see Daemon X Machina, but you can play the demo now! All of your progress will carry over to the main game. The same extends to Dragon Quest XI‘s demo. That game comes out on the 27th.
New Pokémon were also announced with some new features, which you can check out here:
