SNES Nintendo Switch Online
Today’s Nintendo Direct gave us some new surprises and some not-so-new information. First off, subscribers of Nintendo’s online service for the Switch will now be able to enjoy a selection of SNES titles for free, including A Link to the Past. The first batch of games are set to launch tomorrow.

Link’s Awakening (2019) Chamber Dungeons
In roughly two weeks, the remastered Link’s Awakening will be released for the Switch, and with such a close street date not much was discussed in today’s Direct. Chamber Dungeons were mentioned once again, and in addition to noting that Chambers will somehow be collected and “earned” throughout the adventure, the ability to place certain items and enemies within a Chamber was also shown.

In order to share your dungeon creations with friends, you’ll need to save them to a “compatible amiibo figure featuring a character from The Legend of Zelda series.” It’s not quite known if this includes every Zelda-themed amiibo (as only the below were featured in the Direct), but with no mention of the ability to share dungeons online at this point, we’re hoping it’s possible.

Tetris 99 Custom Themes
Available only to Nintendo Switch Online members, Tetris 99 will be receiving a free update featuring several custom themes, including one based on The Legend of Zelda for NES. These “skins” can be acquired by cashing in tickets earned by completing daily challenges. The Zelda theme sets the Tetris window against a 2-D overworld, and some blocks are stylized to resemble Zelda dungeon blocks. A remix of the classic overworld theme seems to be featured as well.

Much more was shown in today’s Direct stream, so be sure to watch the video in its entirety here if you missed it.
