E3 is over, but the excitement for this year’s upcoming games has only begun. Link’s Awakening was announced back in February, but E3 gave us our best look yet at new features and gameplay such as player-made Chamber Dungeons, quality of life improvements to equipment, and an adorable new amiibo.
All that buzz landed Link’s Awakening two nominations in Game Critic Awards’ Best of E3 list. Over 50 media outlets cast their votes across categories such as Best Original Game, Best Console Game, and so on. Overall 48 games were nominated for the awards.
Link’s Awakening was nominated for both the Best Console Game and Best Action/Adventure categories, in both cases sharing the stage with fellow Nintendo title Luigi’s Mansion 3.
On June 27, the Game Critics Awards announced the winners. Although Link’s Awakening didn’t come home with either award, its neighbor Luigi’s Mansion 3 won in the Best Family/Social category.
