Last year, we featured some spectacular Zelda-themed propaganda prints from Fernando “Fro” Reza. These posters pulled familiar concepts from various games of The Legend of Zelda series and recontextualized them with political messages, akin to those seen in propaganda art from the WWI and WWII eras.
It seems Fro has been heavily inspired by the latest installment, Breath of the Wild, as he has six new, beautiful prints based on the game. This time around, we have messages on the importance of “Sheikah building projects”, an advertisement for the Great Fairy, and a caution against the dreaded blood moon, among others.
On the Fro Design Company store, you can also find six new Mario prints, as well as prints for Metroid, Pac Man, Space Invaders, Metal Gear Solid, Joust and Frogger. Individual prints are $40 each, and you can get the Zelda and Mario full sets at a reduced $175.
We’ve been informed that Fro is also currently in the process of putting together a book with Spoke Art Gallery, featuring all of the Zelda and Mario propaganda art, which should release sometime next year.
