Breath of the Wild’s cooking mechanic inspired many players to become Hyrulean chefs in their own kitchens. The Legend’s Cookbook allows fans to do just that, providing detailed recipes inspired by the game and other entries in the Zelda franchise. The team behind the project recently announced a reprint of the original and confirmed that a sequel to the popular cookbook is currently in the works.

Per a Discord conversation with the producers, the reprint will feature a tune-up of existing recipes, the addition of some recipes that didn’t make it into the initial version, extra cooking tips, and more. The “DLC” recipes released exclusively in the eBook-only version will likely also be included in the reprint. Prices will remain the same as before, at $35 for a paperback copy and $45 for hardcover editions. Backers of the original Kickstarter project will automatically receive a digital version of the reprint. Digital copies of the original version are still available via The Yetee for $10.
The quantity of physical reprints that will be available for purchase depends on demand. The Legend’s Cookbook is currently gauging interest via a poll, and estimates reprint quantities to be somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 physical copies to be shipped worldwide. The team predicts the rerelease to happen sometime around the end of this year or early 2022. There are also plans to bring back the blue-and-white apron stylized after the Champion’s Tunic in Breath of the Wild.

The sequel cookbook is still early in the development stages. The team promises even more delectable content, more art, and new custom merchandise to be available for purchase. Like its predecessor, The Legend’s Cookbook 2 will also be seeking support through a Kickstarter fund. Backer rewards for the first book included inclusion in the credits, digital caricatures, and physical rewards such as posters and aprons. Highest-tier backers had their own recipes featured in the book.
A release date for the sequel cookbook is not yet solidified, though the team currently predicts it to be around late 2022/early 2023. Updates will be posted via The Legend’s Cookbook’s Twitter and Discord. Also, be sure to check out our interview with the team from 2019.
