Nintendo has been riding a huge wave of momentum ever since the release of the Switch earlier this year. Stock prices are looking very healthy for the company and there was a lot of positive response to their E3 Spotlight. However in an interview with Variety, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime showed that Nintendo are already looking forward to a very positive 2018 too.

It’s interesting that Reggie feels Nintendo is more of an “entertainment company”, not just a gaming company. He related this idea to Nintendo’s partnership with Universal Studios and their venture into mobile gaming with Super Mario Run. Certainly Nintendo have been aiming to extend its reach further than just traditional gamers and expand in to a more mainstream audience.

As Nintendo continue to grow and develop, perhaps it will start to bring new ways for people to play and engage with the Legend of Zelda too. Only time will tell.

What would you like to see Nintendo do to engage new fans and get them interested in Zelda?

I think Nintendo is building a Zelda-themed area in their new Super Nintendo world theme park in Japan (and later on in the States) so that will be interesting to see.

    “Nintendo are”?
    “Nintendo have”?

    Nintendo is a single entity!
