Breath of the Wild has been received with huge positivity by almost all. The developers worked hard to create a unique Zelda game which breaks many conventions. The only issue that some players have experienced are slight framerate problems, especially in certain locations. These problems have been occurring on both Switch and Wii U versions, mostly when being played on the handheld component. Nintendo this morning released their first patch, which it seems is meant to fix these issues.
Version 1.1.1 is available now for both consoles and seems to focus solely on fixing the framerate problems. Nintendo explained “adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” Given the emphasis that Breath of the Wild puts on exploration and freedom, it seems that the patch is aimed towards making these elements more accessible and enjoyable.
Portability is a huge selling point for the Switch and arguably is the main reason it stands out compared to the competition. By releasing this patch Nintendo obviously wants players to engage in their flagship game with as much ease and enjoyment as possible.You can see the changes for yourself in the video below:
