“The battle begins on ground level right in front of the tower.”

Prism Tower is the beacon of Luminose City in Pokemon X/Y. It was revealed as a stage by director Masahiro Sakurai earlier this month on Miiverse for the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. 4. Now Sakurai has unveiled even more details about the stage. While last time Sakurai teased about fighters brawling atop the tower, this time he has given us a breakdown of how the stage is structured. He begins by telling us where the battle begins, and finishes with where the final confrontation will take place.

“You’ll have to climb the tower by securing footholds like these moving platforms!”

Slowly but surely, you’ll rise up through Prism Tower by way of moving platforms. When you finally reach the top of the tower, the sun has set (which Sakurai adds is “quite a treat”), and the final battle is ready to commence!

“By the time you reach the top, the sun is already setting. The view from up there is quite a treat.”

As an avid player of Pokemon X, Prism Tower is one of the stages I am most looking forward to in the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. 4. It’s nice to finally get a picture of how the stage is structured and the vertical nature of how it works. Hopefully the vertical aspect of the stage is able to live up to its potential and translate beautifully in 3D mode.
