On October 18, Nintendo released the final DLC character for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2. The Kingdom Hearts protagonist, Sora, is the last of 12 characters added to the game as downloadable content after its initial release in December of 2018.

The DLC is available individually as a Challenger Pack for $5.99 or as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 for $29.99. The pack includes Sora, the new Hollow Bastion stage, and nine new songs from the Kingdom Hearts series. Examples of songs added include “Fragments of Sorrow,” “Destiny’s Force,” and “Hollow Bastion.”

Sora’s release marks the end of a three-year period in which Nintendo developer Masahiro Sakurai routinely promoted and added fan-favorite video game characters from numerous franchises to the game. Sora is also a special inclusion because, as Mr. Sakurai explained in the last Super Smash Brothers Ultimate presentation, he was the character who won the Super Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot in 2015. At the time, they were unable to include the character in Super Smash Bros. for Wii and 3DS.
