I thought this was already pretty obvious, but for what it’s worth, here is confirmation: there will be no microtransaction feature implemented into A Link Between Worlds. Apparently, due to the nature of the new rental system and the way Rupees are used heavily in the game, some fans have been concerned that Nintendo may possibly consider implementing a system where players pay real cash in exchange for in-game Rupees. Kotaku, during a hands-on session with the game, asked a Nintendo representative about this concept, to which they “laughed and told Kotaku that microtransactions are not happening in Zelda”.
