Commonwealth Realm explores Ancient Hero’s Aspect theory in Age of Imprisonment

Could the Ancient Hero be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment? Or is it a way for Link to become playable in the game? Popular Youtube Channel Commonwealth Realm explores this possibility in a recent video. Very little is known about the Ancient Hero himself in the Zelda canon. At best, we have fragments of the tapestry legend from Breath of the Wild about an ancient hero facing the Calamity in the distant past, and then Link’s Ancient Hero’s Aspect costume in Tears of the Kingdom, who looks an awful lot like a Zonai. But now, a curious thing has been teased at the end of the latest Age of Imprisonment trailer. We see a Zonai construct being formed in the shape that uncannily resembles the Hero of the Wild.

Some are speculating that the construct might be a way for Link to become playable in the distant past setting of Age of Imprisonment without “breaking” the canon. This was (and still is) a hotly debated topic concerning the last Hyrule Warriors game Age of Calamity. But unlike Calamity, Nintendo has assured us with clear verbiage that Age of Imprisonment will follow the canon storyline of Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild. Check out what Commonwealth Realm has to say about it in the video below.
