Thanks to sharper graphics provided by the Switch 2 console, fans are noticing even more details in Tears of the Kingdom’s expansive world. A Zelda fan known by the name of @xdreamerzo was able to translate some of the headlines in the Lucky Clover Gazette from its native in-game Hylian language to English and kindly shared their findings to the public on social media.
These particular headlines focus on the main story events in Tears of the Kingdom such as Hyrule Castle being lifted up in the air and the missing Princess Zelda. A closer look at the screenshots suggest it may be possible to translate even more Hylian on the newspaper’s pages as well. A modified form of the Sky Era Hylian, this particular dialect of Modern Hylian first appeared in Link Between Worlds and can be directly translated into English. It is noticeably different from the Ancient Hylian that is also found in Tears of the Kingdom.
