More details surrounding The Legend of Zelda movie were discovered in a film job listing on Saturday, March 29, in Productionlist.com, a job opportunity website by the Film & Television Industry Alliance. The listing was updated on March 24 and includes the filming location, project summary, and more.
According to the listing, the Zelda movie is planned to be filmed in New Zealand between November 4, 2025 and April 7, 2026. This is encouraging to see since many fans expressed concern over the possibility of excessive CGI use in the film. Teeming with wildlife and unique natural landmarks, New Zealand has traditionally been an ideal filming location for fantasy movies, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy series. It is important to note that New Zealand might not be the only filming location for the Zelda movie, either. Movies often film at multiple locations around the world during production.

A synopsis of the Zelda movie was published in the listing as well, which states as follows:
“A live-action adaptation of the video game franchise. ‘The Legend of Zelda’ follows Link, a young warrior destined to protect the magical kingdom of Hyrule from the forces of darkness. The land is under threat from Ganon, a ruthless warlord who seeks the Triforce—an ancient relic said to grant limitless power. To stop him, Link must embark on a perilous journey, battling monstrous creatures, exploring treacherous dungeons, and solving intricate puzzles to uncover sacred artifacts that can aid him in his quest.”
Speaking of trilogies, film insider and influencer David Richtman stated in an article from Video Games Chronicle that plans are in the works for the Zelda movie to be the first of a trilogy set, with contracts supposedly spanning enough time to cover three movies. No further information is known at this time, however, if more is discovered this article will be updated. Keep checking Zelda Universe as this story develops!
