On March 28, Nintendo dropped some huge news for Zelda fans in the brand new Nintendo Today! calendar and news app. In true Nintendo fashion, they announced the release date for the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda live-action movie in their own app versus traditional social media channels. As of right now, the release date is set for March 26, 2027.
The Legend of Zelda film will be co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, Avi Arad, and Sony, following the massive success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023). Wes Ball is directing the film and is responsible for films such as The Maze Runner Series (2014-1018) and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024). At this time, we don’t have any more information about the Zelda movie other than a release date and some key production names.
