The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) recently announced the nominees for the 28th annual DICE Awards. Echoes of Wisdom was nominated for “Adventure Game of the Year” alongside 1000xRESIST, ANIMAL WELL, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. While up against some incredibly strong competition, Princess Zelda and Tri can definitely hold their own. In addition to Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree was nominated for “Family Game of the Year”.
AIAS also announced that they will be presenting Nintendo of America’s Don James with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
James joined Nintendo of America in 1981 as one of its first employees and eventually became the Executive Vice President of Operations. Since then, he has spent his career overseeing various departments such as design, manufacturing engineering, quality control, consumer services, and more. He was even involved with the creation of the beloved Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), may it rest in peace. His dedication to the players, Nintendo, and the industry as a whole is unparalleled and it couldn’t be more exciting to see his hard work honored at the DICE Awards! James will be joining fellow Nintendo legends Shigeru Miyamoto and Koji Kondo in the AIAS Hall of Fame. More information on other DICE special award recipients can be read here.
The 28th Annual DICE Awards will take place on February 13th at 8:00 p.m. PT at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. IGN will be hosting a live stream of the event.
