Sometimes you don’t want to be the hero who’s burdened with saving everyone from the brink of doom. That’s a hassle, anyway. The true pinnacle of video game entertainment is when you can let loose all that negative energy and initiate chaos.
For those of you who have ever yearned to enjoy Hyrule with a little less responsibility, we have good news for you. Somehow modder BigSharkZ (or BSZ for short) and Co. have managed to inject the irresistible chaos of Untitled Goose Game into the Hyrule of the Great Sea, and the results are honking hilarious. In this mod, Link from The Wind Waker is essentially replaced with Goose from the Goose Game, but the mod itself is so much more. Players become the slightly deranged Hero of Honks, who must dodge and outwit goose-hating Hyrulean folks, a notorious grumpy old man, and the Helmaroc King in order to get the Triforce. Don’t ask us why it appears to still be the Helmaroc King. Maybe the Goose simply wanted to show him who’s the true boss of fowl play.
Anyway, there’s brand new dialogue, a comical new story, and Princess Zelda with a goose on her head. Yes, you read it right. The Goose even gets to man (or should we say bird) its own lilly-powered cannon across the Great Sea to spread its menace to everyone far and wide.
