Breath of the Wild modder restores unused poison water from beta release

Friend of the site Waikuteru is back with some new finds from the beta version of Breath of the Wild. Digging into the bowels of the game revealed unused poison water that injures Link, but also enemies.

Every enemy, other than Ganon and the Blights, can be damaged by the poison, but it happens at different intervals. The water physics and rafting remains the same and enemies will still drown if they are in too deep. However, the Cryonis rune will not work on the poison. Waikuteru also discovered that Guardians are more aggressive when they are around the poisoned water.

Waikuteru believes that the developers intended to use it in the normal overworld and the Trial of the Sword world, but not in shrines or dungeons. However, they have modded it so that future custom shrines could use it as a new hazard.

As always, Waikuteru goes above and beyond in the video, flooding Hyrule with poisoned water which leads to some pretty interesting overworld shenanigans. Their channel is full of interesting finds, many of which we have covered on the site, so make sure to give them a watch!
