Nintendo reveals an exciting third trailer for Echoes of Wisdom

Nintendo continues to turn up the dial as we get ever closer to the release of Echoes of Wisdom. Last Friday the Big N shadow dropped an all-new game trailer to the world online, this time focusing more on story and the return of classic dungeons. Yes, you read that right. Classic Zelda dungeons are back!

That’s not the only thing shown off in the trailer, however. It begins where we left off when the King of Hyrule gets sucked away into one of many mysterious rifts growing across Hyrule. It turns out these rifts are portals to the strange and foreboding Still World, a mind-bending dimension where trees, people, houses, chunks of land, and even water seem to be floating in a void frozen in time. Anyone who is in the Still World seems to be stuck in a permanent petrified state. We learn that if something or someone is frozen in the Still World long enough, they will eventually disappear for good. Yikes.

Not everything in the Still World stands still for doomsday, however. Thanks to Princess Zelda’s new sidekick Tri, Zelda can safely enter the Still World. Because of the things in Still World being stuck in all sorts of strange positions, Zelda must use her wisdom to navigate and solve puzzles. And that’s where we come to the exciting part: the dungeons. There seems to be many classic dungeons hiding in this Still World, and the enemies inside don’t sit still, either. It’s a great feeling to know that the dungeon style that many fans know and love seem to be back. Only this time, we must think on our feet with Princess Zelda!

Speaking of thinking on our feet, Nintendo also revealed a surprise treat that many fans have been asking. In certain situations, Zelda can wield a sword and shield with a “spirit of the Hero!” But players will have to think when to wield this ability because Zelda can only use a sword against her enemies for a short time. This will encourage players to decide when the moment is right to use this strategy.

So many things were also revealed in the third trailer for Echoes of Wisdom, including the return of familiar enemies, bosses and beloved NPC characters. A demo of the game is available by Nintendo of America at the PAX West show. We’ll cover more of those details very soon so stay tuned for the latest updates on Echoes of Wisdom!
