Rumor: Zelda in my Lego? That might become a reality in the near future

Rumblings have been rippling in the online community that the Legend of Zelda franchise could arrive in officially licensed Lego sets in the near future. No official word has cropped up from the famous toy building brand or Nintendo at this time, but due to the fact that there are already officially licensed Super Mario Lego sets for sale, and Animal Crossing Lego sets are soon to release in March 2024, the odds are high that the possibility of Zelda licensed Lego sets being announced is not far behind.

Notably, there could be a set revolving around building the Great Deku Tree, much like his iconic iteration from Ocarina of Time. Some sources indicate that we may know more information even as soon as Fall 2024, but for now, we can only take it as a grain of salt (or a Deku Nut) and hope that this might come true in the near future.

What would the kingdom of Hyrule look like in the form of Legos? Well, due to The Legend of Zelda’s natural tendencies to solve puzzles anyway, I’m sure it would be very creative. Take, for example, this phenomenal example of a Flux Construct from Tears of the Kingdom built by our Zelda Universe staff member Zac Pricener. With its blocky ancient robotic build, it looks almost identical to the actual thing, doesn’t it?

But before you can cry foul over the ease of designing a Flux Construct with its obvious squares, that’s not the only thing the power of a Lego could do in Hyrule. Just think! Like the possibilities of Link’s Ultrahand, many towns, dungeons, and more are ripe for the taking to build in a Lego setting for the young and old alike. Customers could have the possibility to build all sorts of new characters, too, including the dastardly enemies Link encounters in his adventures. Here’s what they might look like in Lego form, courtesy of Zac:

I don’t know about you, but having dramatic sets like these around would be absolutely a blast to play as a child. Who wouldn’t want to stare down a fearsome Gloom Hand and relive the awe and thrill? Lego sets like these would also be excellent collector’s items, too. Not a fan of Zelda enemies glaring at you from the living room? Well, perhaps this flat mural style of a calmer Lego Link and Triforce is more of your cup of tea.

As you can see, the possibilities for The Legend of Zelda in the wonderful world of Lego are virtually endless. With so much material to draw from, and so much more to come as more games get released, the crossover would simply fit like a Power Glove. Let’s hope that this exciting possibility is finally heard and goes from concept to shelf in the near future!
