Meet the English Voice Cast from Tears of the Kingdom

The latest entry in The Legend of Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, features fully voiced cutscenes. There are several returning actors as well as newcomers in the English voice cast. We’ve listed out who they play in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to the best of our knowledge. Be warned, however, that a lot of these characters are considered spoilers so read at your own risk.

The voice direction for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was done by Hari Leigh with the voice production done by The Halp Network.

For a brief listing of all the voice actors, they go as followed:

Patricia Summersett

Returning as the voice of Princess Zelda is none other than Patricia Summersett. She made her debut as the titular princess back in 2017 with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & again in 2020 with the release of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. This makes Tears of the Kingdom the third time Patricia has voiced Princess Zelda.

Matt Mercer

Matthew Mercer makes his debut as the voice of Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Matt publicly announced his role as Ganondorf after the third trailer dropped in April 2023. You may have also heard Matt in previous roles such as Chrom & Ryoma (Fire Emblem series), Yusuke (Persona series), Hit (Dragon Ball series) & many more. He’s also well known for hosting Critical Role as the Dungeon Master. In addition, you may have also seen Matt play Ganondorf in the web series, There Will Be Brawl.

Chris Hackney

Making his debut in The Legend of Zelda series is Chris Hackney who voices Rauru, a Zonai and the first king of Hyrule. Rauru guides Link at the beginning of the game and also provides the arm that gives Link all new abilities. Chris has been in notable roles including Dimitri (Fire Emblem series), Simeon & Ogen (Octopath Traveler) and Illumi (Hunter X Hunter).

Heather Gonzalez

Heather Gonzalez makes her debut in the world of The Legend of Zelda as the voice of Mineru, Rauru’s sister and the Sage of Spirit. She can be heard in several cutscenes in the main story as well some later events in the game. Heather has previously been heard in roles such as Minoto (Monster Hunter Rise), Malaya (Octopath Traveler II), Elincia/Cherche/Anisse (Fire Emblem series) and many more.

Cherami Leigh

Cherami Leigh makes her debut in The Legend of Zelda series as the voice of Queen Sonia. She can be seen in several cutscenes in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Cherami has also been known for roles such as Makoto (Persona series), Rhea (Fire Emblem series), Trixx (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir), Gaige (Borderlands series), Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon series) & many more.

Cristina Vee Valenzuela

For those who don’t know, Cristina Vee reprises her role as Tulin in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Cristina first voiced Tulin in a DLC cutscene from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Expansion Pass. Cristina also voiced Hestu in Age of Calamity, but Hestu is not voiced in Tears of the Kingdom. Cristina is also known for her roles such as Marinette / Ladybug (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir), Lian Shi (Dynasty Warriors series), Shantae (Shantae series), Tatiana/Merrin (Fire Emblem series), Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon series) & many more.

Sean Chiplock

Sean Chiplock can be heard as several characters in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Most notably, he reprises his roles as Teba and the Great Deku Tree. In addition, he also voices the ancient Rito Sage in the main story. Sean has previously voiced Revali, Teba & the Great Deku Tree in both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Joe Hernandez

Joe Hernandez returns to Hyrule as Yunobo and the ancient Goron Sage in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Joe has previously voiced Yunobo, as well as Daruk, in both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. He can also be heard recently as Boucheron from Fire Emblem Engage and games such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales, The Last of Us: Part II and more.

James D. Mortellaro

James Mortellaro returns as Prince Sidon, the crown Zora prince, in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. He also served as the voice director and the voice of Sidon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Amelia Gotham

Amelia Gotham returns to the world of Hyrule as the ancient Zora Sage in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. She previously voiced Mipha in both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Elizabeth Maxwell

Returning as chief of the Gerudo is none other than Elizabeth Maxwell. In Tears of the Kingdom, Elizabeth reprises her role as Riju as well as the ancient Gerudo Sage. She previously voiced Urbosa and Riju in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Elizabeth is also known for her roles such as Winter Schnee (RWBY), Arisa Uotani (Fruits Basket), Caulifla (Dragon Ball Super), Sae Niijima (Persona 5) & many more.

Kate Higgins

Reprising her role as Purah in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is none other than Kate Higgins. She previously voiced Purah in both the DLC story in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. You may have also heard Kate in roles such as Pauline (Super Mario Odyssey & Super Mario Bros. series), Tails (Sonic the Hedgehog series), Sailor Mercury (Sailor Moon series) and Sakura Haruno from the Naruto series.

Andi Gibson

Andi Gibson reprises her role as Impa in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. She previously voiced Impa in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the younger version of Impa in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. As the retired chief of Kakariko Village, Impa can be found traveling Hyrule studying the mysterious geoglyphs in the main story.

Daniel Riordan

Daniel Riordan has been listed to be part of the English voice cast for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, at this moment, we do not have confirmation on whom he voices. In previous installments, he voiced King Dorephan in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Lauren Mayfield

Lauren Mayfield makes her debut in the Legend of Zelda universe as the voice of Yona, the fiancée to Prince Sidon. She makes her appearance when you begin the main quests revolving around Zora’s Domain. Lauren can also be heard in several roles from games such as Genshin Impact, SMITE and Fallen Legion Revenants.

Maya Aoki Tuttle

Maya Tuttle makes her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as the voice of Josha, the young researcher who studies the Depths below Hyrule. Before coming to Hyrule, Maya can be heard in voice over roles from Disney’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Destiny 2 and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
