Last month we learned that Nintendo would be one of the marquee exhibitors at this year’s edition of PAX East in Boston, Massachusetts. As one of the last major gaming events before Tears of the Kingdom’s May 12th release date, there was speculation that we might see more of the upcoming Legend of Zelda adventure at Nintendo’s booth, however that will not be the case. A company spokesperson recently confirmed that Tears of the Kingdom will not be shown at PAX East, with Nintendo instead focusing on competitive play experiences.
As announced through their social media channels earlier today, Nintendo will be hosting championship competitions for both Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. They will also have the NintendoVS Arcade running at their booth all weekend, where PAX East attendees can play against and alongside one another in games like Mario Party Superstars, Mario Golf: Super Rush, New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, and Yoshi’s Crafted World. Further information for Nintendo’s events can be found on their official website.
Tears of the Kingdom may not be making an appearance at PAX East, but Zelda Universe will be there to represent the Legend of Zelda series well! Our staff is excited to be hosting the panel “Understanding the Zelda Timeline”, where we’ll dive into the chronology of the games and how their stories all tie together. The panel will be held on Friday, March 24th from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM EST inside the Albatross Theatre. It will be hosted by our very own Amanda VanHiel, Andrew Fick, Elias Thompson, Peyton Garrett, and Alex Trevino.

PAX East will run from March 23rd to the 26th and will be held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Tickets and information for the event can be found on the PAX East website.
