A Breath of the Wild 2 collector’s edition listing appears on French retailer website

Fourteen months ago we got our first — and thus far, only — look at the direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. In the trailer’s wake came the usual rumors and fan speculation, along with the more predictable placeholder retail listings.

So what makes the newest listing on French retailer WT&T’s site different from the rest? WT&T — which leaked the Switch version of The Witcher 3 earlier than other retailers — has two listings for the unnamed sequel: a standard version priced at €69.99, and a “collector” listing priced at €82.85.

One’s mind at once goes to the multiple editions of Breath of the Wild that released, including a stunning Master Edition. Could we see a similar situation when the game’s sequel releases? It’s hard to say at this point, especially considering the fact Nintendo has been mum on the game since its reveal.

It’s possible, however, that we may get an answer — or at least more information — soon. In the wake of the worldwide pandemic, this year’s E3 was nixed, and many have speculated Nintendo will premiere a slew of first-party announcements and updates in Direct style before summer’s end. Perhaps by this time next month, WT&T will have a title and pictures to put on their Breath of the Wild sequel listings.
