The new decade is only two days old, and already we have our first hint of its first Nintendo Direct.
Via Twitter, @YuYuKamii shared a picture of GameStop’s “Switch software upcoming releases” listing. This listing is usually available for customers to peruse at the counter, showing them what software can be pre-ordered alongside verified or anticipated release dates. What’s interesting about this listing are the fifteen unnamed SKU’s.
This would appear to indicate Nintendo is set to announce at least fifteen new pieces of software for the Switch — and there’s no better format for that than a Nintendo Direct. In recent years mid-January has been a time of not only traditional Nintendo Directs, but also “mini” Directs devoted to specific games. Will we get none, one, or both? These next few weeks should tell.
