You can explore a ‘Flooded Forest Temple’ in Breath of the Wild with this new mod

The modding community never ceases to amaze me. There’s always something new every week, and Waikuteru is back with another mod for Breath of the Wild. You might be familiar with their work, as they created the Lon Lon Ranch and Skyview Temple mods for the game.

This time around, Waikuteru has published one of his first custom map creations, called the Flooded Forest Temple. ”The dungeon’s size was going to be ten times as big as the biggest vanilla shrine,” Waikuteru tells us. “Unfortunately the dungeon experienced too many crashes and the project was therefore canceled.” Although the original version that Waikuteru envisioned is unavailable to the public eye, we are able to explore the dungeon’s spawn room.

As demonstrated in the video above, Link is able to interact with the room just as he would with any other dungeon. We see him utilizing his Sheikah Slate to activate Runes, and there’s also a bit of exploration that we can see in the video, with our hero fighting an enemy or two and solving a couple of puzzles.

Waikuteru stated that the 1.0 version of the dungeon was released on July 18, 2019, just over a year ago. It was updated to v1.1 on July 18, 2020, on GameBanana, which optimizes the dungeon to run significantly better. This includes changes to the shrine’s name, description, and optimization for the Graphics Pack. If you’re unfamiliar with Waikuteru’s works, you should go and check them out!
