Talented miniature artist creates amazing Zelda- and Nintendo-themed dioramas

I have always enjoyed the personal experience of miniature art. From two- and three-inch-sized paintings to tiny kitchens for a hamster, the creativity and variety in this art niche is simply stunning. One particular Japanese miniature artist is bringing the world of Nintendo to life in diorama form. Tatsuya Tanaka has created adorable dioramas based on Animal Crossing, Zelda, Super Smash Bros., and other Nintendo inspirations using everyday items from around the house.

The creativity that goes into each piece is astounding. Ryu and Ken’s Baby Bok Choy Hadoken is downright adorable! And who would have thought to use straw mushrooms for a lightning kick, or transforming the Switch into a swimming pool? I sure didn’t, but Tanaka has. You can see the rest of his amazing works on his Twitter page and Miniature Calendar website, where he takes his own photographs and uploads time-lapse videos of his darling creations.

Tanaka’s piece featuring Link’s Awakening was also exhibited at the MAG Show in Erfurt last year. As for me, I’m waiting to see if he will make a Zelda piece that features the Minish. It would certainly be a fitting addition to his collection.
