As we reflect on 2024 and look ahead to 2025, there are plenty of things for gamers to be excited about as we celebrate the New Year. Nintendo seems to be celebrating their wins too. Recently they shared an adorable new Echoes of Wisdom artwork of Princess Zelda and Tri on social media. “Looking forward to another year and all the wisdom it brings,” says the Big N’s post. The artwork shows off Zelda and Tri sitting on a hill with a starry pastel sky in the background. A couple of green Zols seem to be enjoying the moment on the hill with them.
With the successor of the Nintendo Switch console not far in the horizon, there’s plenty of online buzz concerning its details. The company recently filed new mysterious patents that fans are hoping will get into the new console. Let’s admit it, whatever comes after the Switch has some big shoes to fill. But while there are plenty of rumors making their rounds, there isn’t a whole of official info to go on at this time. What we do know is that a big market reveal is planned for next year, and Nintendo’s President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that the system will have backwards compatibility with Switch games and Nintendo Switch Online. That in itself will encourage many Zelda fans to sigh in relief. For now, at least we can relax by the fireplace and keep playing our favorite Zelda games through the rest of 2024 until the ball drops and the clock strikes midnight.
