Nintendo just announced the release of a software update for Cadence of Hyrule, which can be downloaded for free by those who already own the main game. The update features a new story with Octavo as an unlockable character, along with a Dungeon Mode that plays similar to that of the original Crypt of the Necrodancer.
Nintendo UK stated via Twitter that players will be able to “discover Octavo’s true intentions” while playing through his side of the story in the new update, hinting that there may be more to his plan to take over Hyrule through music.

The rhythmic adventure Cadence of Hyrule was announced earlier this year, much to the surprise of Zelda and Necrodancer fans alike. In this unprecedented crossover, Necrodancer hero Cadence joins forces with Hyrulean heroes Link and Zelda to foil Octavo’s plans. If you haven’t yet danced to save the world, Cadence of Hyrule is available for download in the Nintendo eShop.
