Yuga’s Art Gallery: Custom-made Crissword

Since The Legend of Zelda TV series aired before A Link to the Past released, the Master Sword was not yet introduced as Link’s definitive weapon. This meant that Link had a sword in The Legend of Zelda TV series which, while its ability to zap enemies was inspired by the original Legend of Zelda game, had a name unique to the show. It is known as the Crissword.

You can find an endless amount of amazing Zelda-related crafts online, but it’s so rare to see something based specifically on the TV series. Fortunately, our featured artist today is a man of culture.

Dave, who runs the site Hero Replicas, and goes by kevlargorilla on Imgur, has made replicas based on huge franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Avengers, and Warhammer, but has diverted to a more obscure choice with this particular project.

Crafting this Crissword replica involved 3D printing, sanding, molding, and assembling, and Dave’s hard work shines through. It looks incredibly accurate to how it appears in the cartoon, which is impressive considering, as Dave points out, “The design changes from frame to frame.” He has laid out the complex process over in his Imgur gallery.

Longtime readers may also recall Dave’s previous work being featured on the site a few years ago, as Zelda Universe owner Jason met with him to create the ultimate Master Sword. The results were absolutely stunning!
