The Minish Cap turns 15 today, and we’re celebrating with related articles this week

The Minish Cap launched in Japan on November 4, 2004. While Game Boy Advance players had already been treated to a port of Zelda classic A Link to the Past, along with the additional multiplayer game Four Swords (which was included on the same cartridge), The Minish Cap was the first all-new, full-fledged Zelda installment on the system.

It used the same, cel-shaded art style that The Wind Waker had only recently established for the franchise, condensed into beautiful, 2D sprite-based graphics. It introduced Ezlo, a talking cap and Link’s new companion, and it featured the origin of the Four Sword and the villain Vaati. It also included the Minish, a new race of tiny people, and an incredibly fun game mechanic that allowed Link to shrink in size to visit their world.

For me, The Minish Cap is the most underrated game in The Legend of Zelda series. I have incredibly fond memories of playing it and consider it one of my favorites. With this in mind, I’m very excited to announce that we will be dedicating our columns to the game’s 15th anniversary this week!

Please let us know your favorite memories of the game, and you can find all of our upcoming articles through the “Minish Cap Week 2019” tag!
