The PAX juggernaut kicks off for 2019 next weekend with PAX South, held in San Antonio, TX, from January 18-20. Zelda fans attending are in luck, with three panels featuring our favorite series on the schedule, including an Ocarina of Time 20th anniversary retrospective that we at Zelda Universe are running.
On Friday, “The Psychology of The Legend of Zelda Franchise” examines several themes found within the Zelda games and how they relate to psychological concepts. With an impressive lineup of psychologists and clinicians taking questions from the audience, this panel promises to get you thinking about the games on a whole new level.
This panel will run from 5.00pm – 6.00pm CST (UTC-6) in the Falcon theater, and will be streamed on Twitch at the same time, so you’ll still be able to enjoy it if you’re not at PAX! Full details about the panel are found here.
At 9.30 pm CST on Saturday, “Nintendo Feud” pits Team Bowser against Team Zelda in a Family Feud-style contest to see who can correctly guess the most popular response to questions about Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. The third and final panel will be held on Sunday afternoon, when we’ll be putting on “Ocarina of Time: 20 Years and Counting”. With Ocarina of Time lauded as one the best games of all time, we celebrate its recent 20th anniversary and look at how it shaped the Zelda series and wider games industry, and whether or not it still holds up today.
