Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s official Japan Twitter page announced that there’s a new Spirit Event coming out, and this time it features The Legend of Zelda. It appears that the event will be held this weekend, at least for Japan.
Roughly translated into English, the tweet says, “Gather in Hyrule! The Triforce competition will be held for three days from May 29, Friday!” It goes on to say that players in the event will be limited to Zelda themed fighters and stages. Spirits from the franchise will also become available. If the event also opens for North America and Europe, this is a great opportunity to get that certain Zelda spirit you might have been after for a while. More details are likely to follow this week. Smash Ultimate’s North American Online Open competition will kick off for registration May 30, Saturday.
Update: We now know that this online tournament event has also opened up in the U.S. The Zelda-related Spirit you earn becomes stronger the further you advance, so get in on the fun while you still can!
