Yuga’s Art Gallery: Princess Zelda back in Smash

With all the hype surrounding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I’ve begun to skim through different pieces of fan art for this new title. One of my favorite characters in Super Smash is Zelda, and I couldn’t contain my excitement when I first stumbled upon her new design for the upcoming game. I fell in love with Zelda’s new look; she looks as absolutely stunning and regal as she should.

Yuga’s Art Gallery is a series in which we highlight our favorite artwork from The Legend of Zelda community, as well as some official artwork from the franchise from time to time. Zelda is a series that is constantly changing its style, and after over 30 years of evolving and shifting its visuals, it continues to inspire endless ways for artists to interpret their favorite characters and moments.

This piece of art is titled “Zelda” by Arlmuffin, a core creator on DeviantArt. This illustration grabbed my attention the moment I saw it based on its beauty and tranquility. Zelda’s new design shines in this image with her triforce earrings and golden blonde hair. The amount of detail given to the clouds behind her and the ruffles in her dress brings this piece of art to life. Zelda is back and better than ever, and I am definitely on board with her new style. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is going to be an incredible game, and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to play as Zelda once again.
