In case you missed it, the National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers 2018 Awards recently concluded and to the surprise of no one, Breath of the Wild walked away with a few awards.
While Super Mario Odyssey ended up winning Game of the Year, Breath of the Wild held its own and also earned a couple of accolades. To be specific, it won awards for Art Direction (Fantasy) and Original Light Mix Score (Franchise).
If you’re curious, Super Mario Odyssey was the winner for Control Design (3D), Control Precision, Game Design (Franchise), Game (Franchise Family), and Song (Original or Adapted), in addition to Game of the Year. In short, Nintendo hoarded the awards with Mario and Zelda alone.
If nothing else, Breath of the Wild winning so many awards makes you wonder how the next Zelda is going to top it!
