Nintendo: Families could own multiple Switch consoles

Japanese publication Asahi has published new comments from Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima. In his remarks, Kimishima says the Switch is priced to allow families to purchase multiple Switch consoles and suggests that Nintendo 3DS units could be reserved for young children.

The idea that Nintendo wants families to buy multiple Switch consoles is no surprise; after all, they want to sell as many units as possible. If Nintendo is serious about convincing families to buy multiple units, they need to make it easier to share software. Buying a second or third Switch is much different than buying a Nintendo 3DS for all of your children, but buying two or three copies of every game to go with makes it sounds less reasonable.

Hopefully, Nintendo’s online service will have a good solution for this problem when it is unveiled later this year.
