When the NX was revealed as the Nintendo Switch back in October it featured the beloved RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim — but neither Nintendo nor Bethesda would officially confirm the game was coming to the console.

Fortunately, Bethesda finally put the speculation to rest during their E3 press conference yesterday. Not only did the studio confirm Skyrim would be coming to the Switch, but they also dropped the surprise that the Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. line of amiibo would be supported. In fact, scanning in the Breath of the Wild amiibo will grant your Dragonborn the Champion’s Tunic, Master Sword, and Hylian Shield. Check out the trailer below to see these features in action.

The Switch port of Skyrim will bring with it motion controls for combat and lock-picking, as well as the DLC expansions Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. It remains unclear, however, if this version of the game will have all of the same features as last year’s remaster (such as user-created mods). Still, if you’ve never played Skyrim before and want another epic Switch RPG in the vein of Breath of the Wild, this may be a game for you. Let us know if you’ll be hunting dragons on your Nintendo Switch when the game releases this fall.
