Link and Zelda wed at local Gamestop during Memorial Day weekend

On May 24, 2015 a GameStop store in eastern Pennsylvania was the host of an unforgettable wedding last weekend. The bride, Christa Slayton, and the groom, Robert Piazza, have been dedicated Zelda fans since they first experienced the series. Dressed as Princess Zelda and the green-clad hero Link, Christa and Robert dedicated the rest of their lives to each other at the store where they first met.

The couple met during a Mario Kart 8 tournament at this very GameStop. After the wedding vows were exchanged, the guests and the newlyweds took part in a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament in honor of that fateful day.

Nintendo even gave the guests gift bags full of Zelda-themed merchandise including playing cards, paper Majora’s Masks, Master Sword candies, and Wii U lanyards. Of course, there were also awesome prizes for the winners of the Super Smash Bros. tournament.

We here at Zelda Universe wish Christa and Robert the best, and hope that they have many unforgettable adventures together for the rest of their lives.
