Super Smash Bros. series director Masahiro Sakurai is still busy teasing the upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles on Miiverse, giving us a new screenshot and a little insight every day. This week we feast our eyes on a brand new stage on Wii U, amusing accessories for the Mii characters, and Master Hand becomes exposed — and it’s not pretty.

First up, Sakurai teases a new enemy known mysteriously as “the swarm”, which appears to emanate from Master Hand’s glove. It’s not confirmed if this happens after you defeat Master Hand (although that would seem like a safe bet), but he does explain what happens when you encounter this substance.

If choosing between the three types of Mii isn’t enough customisation for you, then how about styling up your little avatar with some headgear?

The biggest surprise this week was the unveiling of a Toy Story-esque new stage for the Wii U version. Titled “Gamer”, it reminds me of the introductory cutscene from the original Super Smash Bros. on N64, wherein all the characters are actually dolls that are brought to life.

In a follow-up comment to this last post, Sakurai also added, “If Mom does spot you, she’ll scold you and blow you away!! …I’ve never seen a fighting action game as chaotic as this one.”

Hahaha, Virtual Boy in the last screenshot. Love how they reference that.

I missed that, somehow! That’s awesome. You’ve gotta respect Nintendo for proudly highlighting their commercial failures.

That stage is based off of a mode in ‘Game and Wario’ for the Wii U, just in case anyone didn’t know.

gamer is my favorite game and wario minigame.
I got game and wario as my platinum reward. The gamer game and the multiplayer sketch game made it worth it. (I couldn’t decide between game and wario and nes remix, I went with the more expensive one).
