Even after Breath of the Wild‘s release two years ago, which admittedly it is hard to believe the game came out that long ago, it still captures the hearts and imagination of its players all around the world. Nintendo has always, more than any other developer, I’d argue, had that magic of creativity and wonder that inspires people no matter who they are.
With its new graphic style, which reminds me of those old roly-poly toys I’d play with a kid, it’s clear that the Link’s Awakening remake is inspiring many others as well.
Twitter user ssalrobyul shares with us some amazing art of Breath of the Wild in the Link’s Awakening remake’s style. I’m always impressed at how artists can capture the essence of the design from a game and apply it to either original works or even to other games in the series, and I feel ssalrobyul captured the magic of both games in a single image.

I can imagine this piece as the front cover of a Link’s Awakening-inspired, Breath of the Wild-style game easily. Of course, now that I write it out, I realize I’d actually love to have some sort of game that combined the two like in this fan art. That may well just be a dream, but it’s thanks in large to ssalrobyul that I can dream a little easier, and realize that this combination is something I never knew I wanted.
